A Cool Summer at ORSAY

For Spring/Summer ORSAY is focusing on fashionable optimism – sometimes intentionally expressive, and sometimes more reserved. The desire for authenticity and well-being is finding its fashionable equivalent. The moods range from a constructed coolness to naturalness, down to a colourful brightness.

Whereas one look may be more rocky and extravagant, other looks have a more relaxed and discrete feel to them. Prints are important: checks, flowers, animal skin. Embroideries, bows and frills stand for femininity.

This season’s colours will be either dazzlingly vibrant or authentic. Adding fresh accents to calmer tones are yellow, green, coral and violet. Various blue tones play an important role.

Uptown Couture

A stylishly elegant, and yet laid-back, casual look. It exudes a sense of calm and purity. Structured surfaces, constructed forms and drapes make the difference. Products like coordinates and jackets meet flowing drapés: blouses, tops or dresses reveal their inner wild nature with random-looking drapes and pleats. Wrap effects and layering emphasises these ideas. Everything should look as natural, laid-back and comfortable as possible. The severity is shown in the materials: compact surfaces and men’s suit fabrics meet transparency, fine knitwear, flowing jersey, silky-shiny looks. Degradés and monochrome textured prints underline the desire for informality. Longer blazer styles, jackets with peplum panel detail and waistcoats liven up the jacket range. In terms of colour this look prefers more subdued tones: classic black, white and grey meet a palette of blue.

Candy Blossom

A sugary-sweet look with a penchant for the eccentric. Colourful and cheerful, it radiates pure optimism and sunshine. Feminine, playful and easy-going are the ideas here – and it’s all about not taking yourself too seriously. A cheeky wink of the eye adds extra charm. Light, floral and watercolour-like prints are important accompaniments, but playful frills, flounces, braiding or lace adornments also represent this look. Dresses are a main product and sometimes appear in satin, sometimes in lace or with semi-transparent elements. Decorative surface structures and summer tweeds envelop the wearer on balmy summer nights. Decorative details like flowers, bows or flounces can also be found in the range of accessories. Neutral tones like beige, white, grey form the colour basics, which are combined with different accent colours: yellow, green, coral or lilac.

Greetings from Monaco

Smart-casual summer look, which conjures up images of chic yachting excursions along the French Riviera or an exclusive visit to the casino in the princedom. Alongside classic marine designs like stripes, polka dots and gingham, this look is refreshed with new graphic prints and combinations. As well as classic and denim blouse fabrics, the list of materials features a lot of fine knitwear and summer tweeds. Important here are swing skirts, shirt dresses, wide trousers and different blazer shapes. This classic maritime style is updated with items such as the sleeveless blazer. Big hats and beach bags complete the outfit. Accent colours like new blue tones or delicate rosé add variety to the classic red/white/navy or black palette.

Jungle Queen

A breathtakingly feminine look: glamorous, luxurious, exotic! Inspired by the elements of water & air, it stands out with flowing volume, shine and exotic prints and colours. Popular for tops and dresses are draping, flattering voluminous material, gathering and asymmetry. Tunics and kaftan inspirations are at home in this look. Trousers are plain, yet sophisticated. Satin and silk fabrics play a very important role, as well as suit fabrics, shiny surfaces and reptile leather looks. Animal prints and botanical prints add a touch of the exotic. Surfaces or accessories are perfectly decorated with coloured stones. Natural brown and beige tones enter into an exciting liaison with blue, turquoise and green nuances.

Modern Classic

A classic look – which is interpreted seriously by ORSAY, but is by no means boring! For women who have to adhere to certain dress codes. The main products are suits with the matching blouses and (waiter) waistcoats. New details include rounded hems on blazers, double-breasted blazers, wider cut trousers, feminine ruffles on white blouses, draw cords or pleats. The colour scheme is classic: black, grey, white with accents in greeny-blue or dusky pink.

Miami Flash Back

A bold look, which revives the poppy eighties: flashy! The combination with the “Miami Beach-feeling” is new – this look is cool, young and modern. Sportiness meets femininity, rock-chick meets grunge and volume is confronted with skin-tight “body conscious looks”. Particularly striking and typical of this look are emphasised shoulders and hips. Jersey dresses, mini skirts – sometimes tight, sometimes wide-fitting – jackets with epaulettes, biker jackets, leggings or overalls are celebrating their attention-grabbing comeback. An absolute must-have: the boyfriend blazer!

Details like colour blocks, studs, eyelets, visible metal zips and rolled-up sleeves on T-shirts or blazers create the unmistakeable 80s look. Trendy takes on parachute silk, washable silk, technical fabrics, jersey and molton are also essentials. They are paired with jeans in grey, bleached colours or acid washes. Alongside neutral basic tones like black, white and grey explosively meet vibrant “flash” colours like royal blue, turquoise and coral.

Our Little Farm

A very authentic and nostalgic look, which draws its inspiration from idyllic nature and a greater concern for the environment. The simple country life, the romance of simplicity and getting back to nature are crucial for this trend. Casually rustic “Wild West” elements are combined with a British country house romance. Farmer shirts, crochet and blouse tops, loose strappy little dresses, leather and denim jackets, checked shirts and tough jeans testify the wish for independence and authenticity. Important details – not only on jeans – are destroyed effects and natural washes. But embroideries, decorative braiding, playful crochet edges, frills and fringing also play an important role. Structured surfaces represent the down-to-earth nature of the look. “Crushed”, “crinkled” and “unironed” effects ensure the natural movements of the fabrics. The vibrant used-look is intentional. The rural-plain touch is created with simple checks and stripes, Liberty flowers, embroidered fabrics and stylised geometric prints. The authentic look is continued with the colour palette: naturally bleached and washed-out tones play the leading role. As well as neutral colours like taupe, beige and white, blue tones are combined with orange, rosé or violet.

Daisy Fields

The midsummer variation of the “Our Little Farm” look. Authentic and nostalgic, the source of inspiration for this trend is also nature. The simplicity and romance of a life in the country and the desire to be in touch with nature form the stylistic basis. The products are also characterised by a romantic nonchalance here: blouses and crochet tops, loose strappy little dresses, leather and denim jackets, checked shirts and casual jeans represent the desire for authenticity.

Important details are still destroyed effects and natural washes. Embroideries, decorative braiding, playful crochet edges, frills and fringing also make an appearance. Vivid structured surfaces create the intentional used-look. Checks and stripes, Liberty flowers, embroidered fabrics and stylised prints complete the natural charisma of this look. The fresh interplay of colours with green, yellow and apricot with innocent white is also sure to impress.

Savannah Sun

This look was inspired by the earth element. African influences are apparent here: it’s all about a spirit of adventure, safari tours, the nomadic lifestyle. At the focus are comfort and functionality, which is reflected in the products and materials. Rustic structures like linen looks, natural-looking knitted yarns, silky fabrics, colourful madras checks and suede/leather are essential. Other travel companions are: embroideries, macramé, metal adornments in a matt look, fringes, braided looks and tribal-style accessories. The products include silky, sporty dresses and overalls, parkas, trousers with gathered hems, sarouel pants, extra-long tops with decorations and functional details – such as drawstrings – and tops and knitwear with asymmetric hems. As well as African influences, this look also features Asian and South American trends. This colourful variety of cultures culminates in the so-called “cross culture prints”. Earthy tones like khaki, brown and beige are revitalised with vibrant accent colours such as saffron-yellow, violet and pink.

Dazzling Diamonds

This forthcoming season’s party outfits are seductive with sophisticated cut-outs on the back or on the shoulder, new strap solutions, slits and asymmetry. The special feel of the look is expressed by transparent layering, a silky shine, iridescent shimmer, soft viscose or draped jersey. Emphasised hips on skirts and dresses are a very trendy detail. The most important products are: bustier tops, shimmering skinny jeans, the ultra sexy “body conscious dress” and longer sequinned tops teamed with leggings. New clutch shapes and luxuriant silver jewellery round off the overall look. The main colours of the “Dazzling Diamonds” collection are black and grey. Coloured accents like violet tones, royal blue and red ensure the necessary party mood.

It’s Time To Shine

The trendiest outfits of this look are designed for particularly festive occasions, such as cocktail parties! Popular here are ruffles, pleats, drapery down to wrap effects with ties. Transparent and shimmering surfaces set wonderful highlights. Elegant dresses – with pleating, plain or floral prints as the main product of this look and ensure the perfect appearance. Whether as a variation with a wide swing skirt, feminine bustier dress with floral print or as a shift dress with peplum panel detail – variety is the spice of life! Also very popular: the combination with bolero. All-in-ones and elegant blazers are further important eye-catchers. And also the “hard clutch” is a must-have companion for the evening. In this cocktail collection for atmospheric moments, light neutral tones are revitalised with a harmonious mix of fresh colours like aqua tones and coral-like rosés.
